Welcome to Fede (pronounced Fed-Ay) Italian Greyhounds. Fede is Italian for “Faith,” for without faith all things are impossible.
My kennel name was chosen to honor: God; in providing me the faith and support to protect this breed and enabling me to do what I love. My husband, Darren; for without his faith, support and nurturing, I would be empty. My IG mentor and breeder, Sherry Phillips – Logos Italian Greyhounds; for her faith in me to maintain the breed standard; entrusting me with her IG lineage and providing me with a solid Italian Greyhound foundation.
I began my research of the breed by attending several dog shows/events, trips to the library, ordering IG books from the internet, speaking with and e-mailing several IG breeders, owners, searching on-line and participating in IG chat forums for a year, literally. After that year, I located a breeder that I would be comfortable purchasing an IG from. My 'breeder' turned out to be more than a person selling me a dog; she also became my friend.
In 2006, my love for the breed deepened after our first purchase of two companion IG’s; retired CH Logos Spread the Gospel and Logos Passion of the Cross. In 2007, we added another companion IG, Logos Sin Offering. In 2008, I ascended into the conformation ring with my first show prospect, Logos Spirit of the Lord, followed by now CH Logos Guardian Angel. In 2009, Logos Pray Now or Pay Later and Logos Fear Knocked and Faith Answered joined the family.
There are many other IG breeders (and a dobie one!) that have provided me with support and encouragement. With each show brings new friends and expands my knowledge of the breed. Continuous education is the key to success!
If you are looking for an IG, please purchase from a RESPONSIBLE breeder or adopt from rescue. The relationship that you cultivate will be beneficial in raising your iggy. A responsible breeder welcomes questions and wants to know YOU before they will consider placement of their precious dogs.
